We are thrilled to announce that Amanda Morris, a dedicated and passionate marketing teacher at Burns High School, has been named the 2023-2024 CTE Teacher of the Year! This prestigious award recognizes outstanding educators who exemplify excellence in career and technical education. For the past ten years, Amanda has poured her heart and soul into her students and her craft. Her infectious enthusiasm and commitment are evident in everything she does. Whether it's helping students excel in the classroom or guiding them through extracurricular activities, Amanda always goes above and beyond.
A Champion for DECA and Beyond:
Amanda's impact extends far beyond the classroom walls. She is the driving force behind Burns High's thriving DECA program, which has grown to 44 members under her leadership. Amanda dedicates countless hours to preparing her students for competitive events, and her hard work has paid off. She has hosted the District DECA competition for the past two years, and herself and her team even sponsor the Miss BHS Scholarship program, which witnesses increasing success each year.
This year, Amanda's vision and collaborative spirit reached new heights when she organized the first-ever Burns High School Rodeo, a sanctioned event on the NC High School Rodeo Association circuit. This impressive feat was achieved through collaboration with FFA and SkillsUSA programs, showcasing Amanda's ability to unite and inspire.
Sports Marketing, Community Engagement, and More:
Amanda's influence extends even beyond DECA. Her Sports Marketing students organized the North Shelby Basketball game, a highlight event for the entire Burns High community.
Amanda's dedication doesn't stop at the school gates. She is a true champion for her students, her school, CTE as a whole, and the BHS community. Her passion, energy, and collaborative spirit make her a truly deserving recipient of the CTE Teacher of the Year award. We are incredibly proud to have Amanda Morris as part of Cleveland County Schools.
