Lesley Bumgardner of Burns High, Karen Gold of Casar Elementary, and Brian Blow of Marion Elementary were recognized as 2019 Hoyt Q. Bailey Agape Award winners.

"I am grateful to play a small part in the recognition of the Hoyt Q. Bailey Agape winners," said Ben Cabaniss, a member of the CCS Educational Foundation board of directors. "It is evident that our Agape winners have positively influenced the lives of children in Cleveland County."

The awards program, sponsored annually by the Foundation, was held in conjunction with the Carl DeBrew Heroes program to recognize three teachers whose love for teaching impacts the lives of students within and outside the classroom. Each year, schools submit their local Agape Winners to the Foundation for consideration of the district-wide award. A dedicated panel thoroughly reviewed each submission and determined that Bumgardner, Gold, and Blow were the best candidates for the 2019 countywide award winners.

"This is truly an inspirational program and an honor to be part of," added Cabaniss.
