Never Give Up

At the December 16 school board meeting, the Cleveland County Board of Education approved Paula Stevens as the next principal of North Shelby School and Stephanie Hinson as assistant principal.

"I am very honored to keep the vision going for North Shelby School," said Stevens. "I believe that ALL students can learn, even if it is in a different way and at their own pace."

Both Mrs. Stevens and Mrs. Hinson have worked in the area of Exceptional Children for many years, both entering school administration from their positions of EC compliance managers. Stevens succeeds Mark Patrick, who is returning home to lead the North Carolina School for the Deaf. Hinson will step in as assistant principal for outgoing retiree, Nancy Nation. Hinson will slowly transition from her current position to North Shelby School from Turning Point Academy.

"We look forward to working with students, staff, and parents in helping students achieve their maximum potential," added Stevens.

Join us in welcoming Paula Stevens and Stephanie Hinson into their new roles and in wishing Mark Patrick and Nancy Nation all the best.
