Teacher Assistant of the Year with various district representativesChristopher Huffstetler of Township Three Elementary is the 2021 Cleveland County Schools Teacher Assistant of the Year. Huffstetler was named this year’s winner during an outdoor ceremony at the Venue at Turkey Ridge, a brand-new event location in Cleveland County.

The two runner-up finalists for Teacher Assistant of the Year included Wendy Blanton of Union Elementary and Kathy Skinner of Graham Elementary. Each received $250 from David and Marie Brinkley.

“I take great pride in being named the teacher assistant of the year for Cleveland County,” said Huffstetler. “I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve the children in our county. I recognize how hard other teacher assistants work, and it is very humbling to be chosen to represent Cleveland County schools. My goal is to continue representing the county to the best of my ability through the work I do with children, and the relationships I make with parents, co-workers, and members of the community.”

Mr. Huffstetler received a yearlong membership to the YMCA, a gift from the Cleveland County Teacher Assistants Association, a beautiful glass award commemorating the recognition, and $2,000 from David and Marie Brinkley.

"We are fortunate to have Mr. Huffstetler representing Cleveland County Schools as the 2021 Teacher Assistant of the Year,” said Greg Shull, local Teacher Assistant of the Year program coordinator. “It is obvious that he is passionate about his work and he absolutely loves the school environment.”
