For exhibiting qualities of courage and strength of character, student Heroes were honored at Central Services at the annual Carl DeBrew Heroes program sponsored by the Cleveland County Schools Educational Foundation and Laughlin Furniture Outlet.
The Carl DeBrew Heroes program was established to recognize incredible students for overcoming great obstacles," said John Laughlin, a CCS Educational Foundation board member and owner of Laughlin Furniture Outlet. "I believe the program helps boost their confidence for the future."
Selected by their respective schools for their heroic successes, the students have either overcome adversities or have provided extraordinary assistance to others. Thanks to the CCS Educational Foundation and Laughlin Furniture Outlet, each Hero received a personalized medallion, certificate, and a t-shirt.
"This event is a true blessing to me, and I am fortunate to be involved in helping make a difference in their lives," added Laughlin.
