The annual Math Field Day was recently held at CCS Central Services where mathematicians from around the county converged to test their skills. This year's theme, "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Math Day," provided several unique, holiday-themed challenges.
Fallston's Remainder Reindeer won first overall while Springmore's Algebros Plus 1 finished second and Township 3's Gifted Bestimals followed with a third-place finish. The "remainder'" of the challenges and the respective winners are as follows.
The first challenge, Do You Think What I Think, required students to use their mental math skills to answer a total of 50 questions. Students were required to solve the problems mentally without using paper or pencil.
