CTE Teacher of the Year - Tina White
Tina holds degrees from Gardner Webb University and Winston-Salem State University and earned her teaching license from NC State University. Before transitioning to education, Mrs. White worked for 18 years as a registered nurse, serving in both hospitals and health departments in Cleveland and Rutherford Counties. In addition to teaching, she serves as an evaluator for the NC NAI testing agency. Her students earn four key certifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, First Aid, OSHA 10-hour Health Care Industry, and NC Nurse Aide I. Mrs. White has successfully prepared over 200 students who have gone on to earn the NC nurse aide credential. When asked what she enjoys most about teaching, Mrs. White shared, “I never get the chance to be bored. The students are fun, creative, inquisitive, and completely unpredictable. It’s rewarding to know that I’m helping them gain skills they’ll use for life. Watching them grow, mature, and realize they’re capable of overcoming challenges is incredibly fulfilling.”
