AP European History
Level: 12 Credit: 1 Unit
Prerequisite: Teacher approval
DESCRIPTION: This course introduces and examines European History from 1450 to the present. We will study a wide range of the topics outlined in the College Board’s course description for European History: intellectual and cultural history, political and diplomatic history and social and economic history. By the end of the year, students should understand the principal themes of modern European History, be able to recognize and differentiate between the major historical periods, be able to analyze historical evidence (including documents, maps, statistical tables, works of art, political cartoons, etc.) and be able to express historical understanding in writing. College credit may be awarded by the College Board upon the successful completion of the AP Exam.
