exploring a career in teaching by Peer Tutoring with the Exceptional Children
classes? Students will tutor peers in academics
and teach learning strategies. If you
are interested, please see your guidance counselor or Jerri Tate to get an
application.
*FBLA: Our next
meeting is Tuesday, March 9th in the cafeteria.
We need all members present to sign up for a time slot during lunch for
our March of Dimes project. For those of
you who have not participated lately, this is your chance.
*Any rising 11th or 12th
grader that is interested in registering for PEPI next year will need to get an
application outside of Coach Butler's office on the PE hall. Please complete application and turn in to
Coach Butler by Thursday, April 1st.
*Communities In Schools is currently
taking applications for volunteers to participate in our
*RENAISSANCE: As
promised, those of you who sold at least 6 BBQ plates during the fundraiser for
Renaissance will receive a pizza party in the Cafe', Tuesday, March 9th during
your lunch. A list of those students who
sold at least 6 plates can be found in the Renaissance link on the KMHS
Webpage! Check it often so that you

March 5th is the last day to register for the Sat., April 10th ACT test to be given here at KMHS. The June 12th ACT test will

*Are you interested in
learning about young children? Have you always had an interest in Child
Development? Then think about enrolling in the Early Childhood Education
Program offered through
*AMBASSADORS: READ your email this week.
*Seniors - if you have not ordered a cap and gown, orders forms are
available in Room 104.
*If you are interested
in teaching 4th and 6th graders how to swim, see Mrs.
Grant or one of the counselors for a swim assistant application. Forms are also available outside Mrs. Grant’s
door. You will become lifeguard, first
aid, CPR, and AED certified.
*Calling all future teachers! Are you interested in
finding out more about the teaching profession? Do you have a passion for
helping others? Then
*Auditions for Symphonic Chorale for the
2010-2011 school year will take place on March 8-10
from 3:30 to 5:00 in the Chorus room. Come by to sign up for an audition time slot.
Any student who is interested in furthering their musical knowledge by singing
high quality choral repertoire needs to audition. You must meet ALL audition
requirements plus turn in a completed application form in order to be
considered for a spot. See Mrs. Fulton before signing up for an audition time.
*Auditions for Kings Revue for the 2010-2011
school year will be held on March 11 and 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 in the Chorus
room. Any student who is interested in singing pop, broadway, and popular music which incorporates
choreography should audition. Students should be strong solo singers and have a
desire to perform for the school and throughout the community. You must meet
all audition requirement plus turn in a completed
application form in order to be considered for a spot. See Mrs. Fulton before
signing up for an audition time.
*The Code Teen program for current 9th-12th graders gives
participants better insight and hands-on activities regarding healthcare career
paths. Applications are now available
from your school counselor. Students who
participated last year or in year's past must also re-apply if they want to
participate again this summer. The
curriculum will be much the same as last summer as well. Applications are due back to the school counselor
by Thursday, March 25th.
*SOPHOMORES ONLY: The SATELLITE (Science and Technology
Enriching Lifelong Leadership In Tomorrow's Endeavors)
program at NC State University offers an action-packed five-day educational
retreat to selected sophomores from
