Since 1955, the College Board's Advance Placement Program (AP) has offered high school students the opportunity to complete college-level courses while still in high school.

The Advance Placement program currently consists of 34 courses and exams in 19 subject areas (Not all offered at Kings Mountain).

 

Participation in the Advance Placement Program offers students many benefits.

Students are given a preview of a rich and rigorous college-level curriculum. 

 

The students have the opportunity to receive college credit or advanced standing

 depending on the credit policy of the college they choose to attend.

Advance Placement courses may benefit many high school students.
