Expectations For Our Second Grade Classrooms

Second Grade Classroom Rules

We follow the PBS Matrix which is located inside your child's planner.

Consequences

We move the pawprints to give the children a visual of their behavior. When a student breaks a rule their paw is moved down. Every afternoon we will mark in thier planner what rule they have broken. The planner goes home daily for you to review. Please sign the planner every night.

Consquences for each offense and when the paw is moved

Fin-tastic - Your child was exceptional.

P.A.W.S. - Your child had a great day.

Verbal Warning - Your child was called down, this will not get marked in their planner.

1st Intervention- Silent Lunch, Isolated desk, or 10 min. time-out.

2nd Intervention - Silent Lunch, Isolated desk, 10 min. time-out.

M.I.R. - Minor Incident Report. A copy will be sent home for you to sign and you will probably receive a phone call. After 3 M.I.R.'s - they will be sent to the office for an office referral.

Expectations For Our Third Grade Classrooms

We have a new school-wide behavior system called, "PAWS."

P- Play It Safe

A- Accept Responsibility

W- Winners Always Learn

S- Show Respect

All of my classroom expectations derive from the above acronym.  Students can be rewarded for positive behavior.  Inappropriate behavior is discouraged, and has its own consequences.

Students can earn individual tickets for positive behavior.  On Fridays, they may cash them in for one of the following:

1. treasure chest treat

2.  read with a friend

3.  have lunch with a friend

4.  homework pass

5.  help a teacher

CLASS REWARDS

Classes are rewarded by other school personnel for exemplary behavior (as an entire class).  When twelve PAWS have been earned, the class may decide on any of the following rewards:

1.  extra recess

2.  eat lunch in the room or picnic area

3.  classroom snack

4.  board games from home

5.  educational video
