Important Dates:

VoCATS Mid-Term Exam- March 24  

 Units 1-4 for 8th grade and Units 1-2 for 7th grade.  It is a 50 question multiple choice paper based test. The Exam will 25 % of your Final grade.

Progress Reports sent home Feb 16. Parents Sign and return.

Homework Assignments:

7th and 8th grade Study VoCATS Questions. Exam counts as 25% of your grade.

Do I have to take the VoCATS Test? Yes, it is required by the state of North Carolina.

Do I have to pass the VoCATS Test? Yes, it is counted as 25% of your class grade and is included in the ranking of our school and the results are reported to the county and state as part of the ranking system.

Description:
This course is designed to provide hands-on instruction in basic computer hardware components and software applications. Emphasis is placed on computer skills while providing experience for learning word processing, database, spreadsheet, graphics, multimedia, and telecommunications applications. Communication skills and basic mathematical concepts are reinforced in this course. Work-based learning strategies are appropriate. Simulations, projects, teamwork provide opportunities for application of instructional competencies.
