SHARK NEWS Curriculum Corner Math The sixth grade math curriculum reinforces basic math skills and introduces higher order thinking skills that are essential for all students. New vocabulary, concepts, and procedures are introduced and continually practiced throughout the year. A general review of the four basic operations will be introduced first. Later, mathematical equations, ratios, proportions, probability, algebraic concepts, and measurement are added to the curriculum. Problem solving strategies are taught and used throughout the year.
