Welcome to 6th grade and the Swordfish Team!! We are learning new and exciting things in science this semester. We just finished a unit on rocks and minerals and for the next few weeks we will be studying Plate Tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanoes. Each day we complete read, take notes, and complete activities that we keep in a science notebook. At the end of each unit of study, each student must organize his/ her notebook and turn it in for a grade. We also go to the science lab one day a week to do "hands on" investigations. Students are required to participate in these investigations and complete a lab sheet. |

Generally, there is no homework in science. On occasion students may have to bring home a worksheet that they have not completed from their science notebook. All science tests are open book and open note. Generally there is no studying required. The Science textbook is available for viewing online. Just go back the main page of our school's website and click on websites for students, then textbooks online, and then find the 6th grade science book (red) and click. You can access the text as well as worksheets for each section. There are also some neat videos that can be viewed as well. |
