In Science, we are studying energy. Parents, please ask your student about their grades. Please ask them about our lab activities and field trips too! Progress reports go home November 23.
We planted the garden with fall vegetables on September 24. Turnips, lettuce, collards, broccoli, and spinach were growing nicely. The rain has been great! The deer have been in our salt lick and in the garden. They decimated the garden last week. I hope some of my students and I can indirectly eat some the vegetables we planted (in the form of venison) when deer season opens next week! At least the turnips are still looking good. Let's hope the hair we put out keeps them from coming back.
We enjoyed dissecting owl pellets last year and would love to do it again. If you have access to an old barn or shed that may contain owl pellets, please let me know!
