News and Announcements:

WE NEED TISSUE!!  If you can send a box, we would really appreciate it! 

Our focus is shifting to theme and inferencing.  We will be reading "All Summer in a Day" this week. 

DEP letters were sent home Monday, November 16.  This letter pertains to AIG identified student's parents.  Please be sure to ask your AIG student for a letter so you may select a time for a conference. 

Please encourage students to read at least a total of two to three hours per week in their AR books at home.  Reading is very good practice for fluency, comprehension, and many other literary skills.  Don't forget to use bookadventure.org to help you select books or assess your understanding of a book.

AR points for each class increase this second nine weeks:

Regular AR-20 points
AIG AR-25 points
2nd Nine weeks AR reward-Deal or No Deal game-the student with the highest number of AR points in the sixth grade gets to be the contestant and the other 22 students that have the highest AR points in the sixth grade will hold the suitcases.

Tuesday, November 17

1.  Read Accelerated Reader book for at least 30 minutes-Record WHAT you read and LENGTH of time you read in your planner in Tuesday's language arts block.
2.  Spelling Contract project due Friday
3.  Block Three ONLY-Wordskills-62-63
                                      -return AIG/DEP letters

Wednesday, November 18

1.  Read Accelerated Reader book for at least 30 minutes-Record WHAT you read and LENGTH of time you read in your planner in Wednesday's language arts block.

Thursday, November 19

1.  Read Accelerated Reader book for at least 30 minutes-Record WHAT you read and LENGTH of time you read in your planner in Thursday's language arts block.  Get parent signature!!
