The Media Center welcomes you! We provide a wealth of resources to our teachers and students. Our collection currently includes 19,000 fiction and nonfiction books, 1,900 reference
books, 18 sets of encyclopedias, 1,300 videos, 25 laserdiscs, 75 books on tape, 28 periodical selections, and a large professional library. We have AR tests for nearly 7,000 of our books. There are 36 computers,
including 8 card catalog stations, that provide internet and network access.
All of our Language Arts teachers are scheduled to visit the Media Center every two weeks for book exchange and quiet reading time.
Lessons are given to the 6th grade students at each visit. They are taught the Dewey Decimal System, Card Catalog, NC Wise Owl, EBSCO, Internet basics including CCSS Web site, and other various research resources.
Our Media Center resources are available to our teachers from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and to students from 8:20 am to 2:45 pm.
We try to provide a quiet, welcoming atmosphere for our students to read,
research, and learn.
