Information
Small Animal Care is designed to assist
the student with a limited knowledge and background in small animal care
science develop a solid foundation from which they may further their small
animal care science studies. As such, Small Animal Care introduces students
to basic terminology that is used throughout the small animal care industry.
Students learn to differentiate small animals by breed, sex and use. In
addition, students learn the foundational principles that are needed in
a profitable small animal care enterprise. The course also has a
very strong science emphasis. Small animals anatomy, physiology and psychology
are major components of the curriculum. Students will learn about the behavior
and physiological processes of small animal care.
