In 1976, Burns Junior High (grades 7-9) was established,
then in 1990, the Cleveland County School System was
reorganized and Burns Junior became a middle school (grades
6-8).
BMS presently serves approximately 930 students and
features 50 classrooms, a chorus and a band room, a complete
gymnasium facility, a theater, eight computer labs, and a
large commons area.
BMS strives to offer students a balanced quality
education and many opprotunities to experience the arts,
sports and other cultural experiences.
