Foundation Presents $87,000 in Scholarships to Top Seniors

The Greater Cleveland County Schools’ Educational Foundation presented $87,000 in scholarships to the top academic 12th graders at Burns, Crest, Kings Mountain
and Shelby high schools at the 5th Annual Senior Scholars Banquet April 30th at Gardner-Webb University.

Some 174 seniors who have maintained a 4.0 grade point average and their parents
were invited to the event sponsored by the
Cleveland County Board of Education.

Each student received a $500 scholarship.

Scholarship money presented was generated by the Turner Trucking Co.  Academic Awards Golf Tournament sponsored by the Foundation last October at River Bend Golf Club. Many of the tournament’s Benefactors and Patron Sponsors attended the banquet and presented scholarships to the senior recipients.
