Foundation Presents $80,500 in Scholarships
to Top Seniors

The Greater Cleveland County Schools’ Educational Foundation presented $80,500 in scholarships to the top academic 12th graders at Burns, Crest, Kings Mountain and Shelby high schools at the 4th Annual Senior Scholars Banquet April 22nd at Gardner-Webb University.

Some 161 seniors who have maintained a 4.0 grade point

average and their parents were invited to the event sponsored by the Cleveland County Board of Education. Each student received a $500 scholarship.

Scholarship money presented was generated by the Turner Trucking Co.  Academic Awards Golf Tournament sponsored by the Foundation last October at River Bend Golf Club. Many of the tournament’s Benefactors and Patron Sponsors attended the banquet and presented scholarships to the senior recipients.
