North Shelby School Graduates Ten Students

Ten North Shelby students graduated on Friday, May 29 at 10 am in the Carlos Young Building on the North Shelby campus.

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Martha Hill and Principal Dr. Nellie Aspel awarded diplomas and certificates to Steven Blanton, Ciera Rippy, Dennis MacKeen, and to Whitney Brooks, Eugene Fisher, Brandon McKissick, Tahkeeya Rhodes, Eric Sisk, Elijah Derrell Weaver with Silver Honors; and to Connie young who graduated with Gold High Honors.

Heather Mooney and Tiffany Spikes served as Graduation Marshals.

The North Shelby Honors Chorus, Signing Choir and Bell Choir performed and Father Michael Kottan gave the Invocation.

Jeff Ross, of Cleveland Regional Medical Center was the Key Note Speaker.

The Special Friend Award was given to the Piedmont Shriners.

The Malcolm Brown Award was awarded to Morris Memorial Baptist Church..

The Distinguished Service Award was given to Robert Alexander and the TASSEL Employer of the Year Award was given to Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Senior Dennis MacKenn received the Dr. Launita Proctor Award which was given by the Shelby Civitans.

Following the turning of the tassels and a senior tribute video, the give seniors boarded a limousine and were treated to lunch at a Gondola Restaurant in Shelby.
