Student Heroes honored for courage, strength of character

Nineteen students were honored as Time Warner Heroes by the Greater Cleveland County Schools’ Educational Foundation March 22 at a banquet at Cleveland Community College .

The student Heroes were chosen for their courage and strength of character in coping with language barriers, learning disorders, physical handicaps or other problems. This was the eleventh year the Foundation has teamed with Time Warner to recognize inspirational students in Cleveland County Schools. Each Hero received a personalized medallion, certificate and T-shirt. Student Heroes honored are as follows:

Fallston Elementary: Randall Hendricks

Jefferson Elementary: Grace Grinton
Kings Mountain Intermediate: Robert Tilley, Jr.
Marion Intermediate: Jordan Brown

Township Three Elementary: Takiyah England
Union Elementary: Allison Hoyle
Washington Elementary: Austin McCain
West Elementary: Jonah Williams

Takiyah England of Township Three Elementary School was one of nineteen HEROES honored at the Time Warner Cleveland County Schools Educational Foundation Heroes Banquet Thursday, March 22 at Cleveland Community College. Below left is Faythe Thompson of East Elementary School and Jonah Williams of West Elementary School.
