Cleveland County Schools’ students are among approximately 125 selected to participate in the NC Elementary Honors Chorus concert during the NC Music Educators’ Conference in Winston-Salem in November.

Students were selected by audition and will perform at the convention in the Stevens Center of Performing Arts. The purpose of Honors Chorus is to provide students with the opportunity to develop their abilities to the greatest possible extent.

The rigorous audition process began at the schools where up to six top vocalists were identified and submitted for consideration. NCMEA (North Carolina Music Educators Association) adjudicators then selected this year’s Honors Chorus performers. Since the announcement of this year's participants, teachers have worked with their selected students to prepare for the upcoming show. The Honors Chorus performers will spend the day before the concert working with Clinician Tom T. Shelton, Jr. to prepare for the performance.
