Students Connect with World Renowned Artist

posted Mar 3, 2016, 11:33 AM by Greg Shull
Miami-based Artist Romero Britto carved out some time to speak with students at Boiling Springs Elementary via Skype. Using his iPad, Mr. Britto toured the students through his Miami art studio and answered questions about his art, family, and love for animals.

Britto, a Brazilian artist known for his use of vibrant colors and bold patterns as a visual language of hope and happiness, also spoke about his recent designs for Coca-Cola as well as his upcoming involvement as a torchbearer for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

After the Skype session, students enjoyed a brief interview discussion with The Star’s Elise Franco. She interviewed several students about inspiration, creativity, and a variety of other topics surrounding Britto and art in general. Click here to read Franco’s article.

“Our students have been studying Romero Britto and his unique approach to art,” said Paula Peeler, principal at Boiling Springs Elementary. “Meeting and speaking with Mr. Britton provided a fabulous experience that helped connect our students to their artistic studies.”

“We are grateful to Mr. Britto for taking time out of his busy schedule to share his love for art and creativity with our students,” Peeler added.
