Nearly 40 retirees gathered at The LeGrand Center to celebrate over 840 combined years of love, care, and support provided to the students of Cleveland County.

During the event, the retirees broke bread together and enjoyed an evening of laughter, reminiscence, and recognition.

“This is a milestone worth celebrating for many reasons,” said Jennifer Wampler, CCS Executive Director of Human Resources. “We absolutely commend them for accomplishing the personal goal of retirement.  Most important, we celebrate their work as they have all impacted the lives of our students and for that, we are most grateful.”

The retirees were presented with a commemorative apple as a symbol of their hard work and commitment.

“During this time, it brings me great pleasure to think of all the lives that have been impacted by our retirees,” said Dr. Stephen Fisher, superintendent of Cleveland County Schools.  “We applaud their efforts and thank them for their dedication to the students of Cleveland County.”
