Thanks to the support of Crest High Principal Holly Robinson and the school’s BETA Club, the team raised over $6,000 - via hat and jeans days at the school - to go towards the fight against multiple sclerosis (MS). Crest High Charger Kayla Pittman helped organized much of the effort and also led a “Pit Crew” team in the Walk MS Shelby.
“You would have been impressed at how well they [Pit Crew] all represented our school,” said Pittman. “Everyone was so
helpful and enthusiastic.” Principal Robinson credits Coach Silva for doing a fantastic job in involving the school’s football team in various community service projects.
“I love that our students have the opportunity to represent our school with so much passion and grace by volunteering in our community to support such great causes,” said Robinson.
Pittman added, “After the walk, our football team even entertained everyone with karaoke and line dancing. The event coordinator and other team members told my mom how much they enjoyed our young people being there.”
