North Shelby School graduates 23 in ceremonial fashion

The 2015 North Shelby School Graduates received certificates and awards in front of a packed house at in the school’s Carlos Young building.

Principal Allison Hodges introduced every graduate and delivered a detailed list of accomplishments of each while Superintendent Dr. Stephen Fisher presented the graduation certificates.

The audience enjoyed a variety of student performances including Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” by the school’s bell choir, American Author’s “Best Days of My Life” by the honors chorus, and Sara Bareilles’ “Brave” by the signing choir.

Recipients of North Shelby’s annual awards were Lilly Bean Coffee Company, Special Friend Award; Jan Young of Hearts and Hooves, Distinguished Service Award; Nancy Nation, Malcolm Brown Award; Taylor Dotson, Whitley Mangum Award; and Junior Mickles, Dr. Launita Proctor Award.

Christopher Hardin and Denzel Shell served as the marshals.
