The 2017 Jolene Litton ABCD (Above and Beyond the Call of Duty) Award was presented to Kristin Brackett of Marion Elementary, at a ceremony held at The LeGrand Center.

The ABCD Award is presented each year to an educator in Cleveland County Schools who effectively models the use of technology, encourages unique and innovative technology projects, and practices them within his/her school. The award is sponsored by the Foundation and the Cleveland County Schools Technology Services Department.

Technology Services Director Tim Wease presented Mrs. Brackett with an award and a perpetual plaque to take back to her school. She also received an iPad from the Cleveland County Schools Technology Services Department. Mrs. Brackett was nominated by Heather Self, the principal at Marion Elementary.

The ABCD Award was first presented in 2005 to honor Jolene Litton and her service to the students and teachers of Cleveland County Schools. Mrs. Litton was among the first curriculum/technology coordinators in the district, serving at Boiling Springs Elementary.
