Finalists named for 2015-16 teacher, principal, teacher assistant of year

Teachers and teacher assistants of the year were selected for interviews based on their replies to several essay questions. These finalists were interviewed by a committee of community members including business leaders and educators.

Finalists for 2015-16 Teacher of the Year are Pam Myers of Fallston Elementary, Michele Rogers of North Elementary, Ashley Hooks of Springmore Elementary, Emily Morgan of Union Elementary, and Jason Cranford of Kings Mtn. Middle School.

Teacher-assistant-of-the year finalists are Vicki Lutz of Fallston Elementary, Donna Kostiuk of Shelby Intermediate, Kelly Lovelace of West Elementary, Penny Hall of Kings Mtn. High School, and Paula Phelps of Turning Point Academy.

Tamara Goforth of Boiling Springs Elementary, Rodney Graves of Crest High, and Amy Jones of Crest Middle were nominated by their fellow principals as 2015 CCS Principal of the Year finalists. They also were interviewed by a community committee.

Teachers and teacher assistants of the year from all schools and the finalists for principal of the year will be honored at the Wells Fargo Outstanding Educators Breakfast on Aug. 21st at the LeGrand Center. The 2015-16 CCS Teacher, Teacher Assistant and Principal of the Year will be named at this event.
