County’s top teacher, teaching assistant, and principal named at Wells Fargo Outstanding Educators event

After a rigorous selection process, the district Teacher of the Year and Teacher Assistant of the Year were announced along with the naming of the Principal of the Year during the Wells Fargo Outstanding Educators event at the LeGrand Center.

Dave Reed of Kings Mountain Intermediate will serve as Cleveland County School’s Teacher of the Year; Janice Queen of Grover Elementary as the Teaching Assistant of the Year; and Mrs. Feaster of Graham Elementary will represent the district as the Principal of the Year. 

All three received monetary awards from Wells Fargo for their professional development in addition to glass apples handcrafted by N.C. artist Robert Levin. Mr. Reed will have the opportunity to attend the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta courtesy of Laughlin Furniture and the CCS Educational Foundation, and received $500 from VFW Post 4066 of Shelby, as well as a $100 gift certificate from the Cleveland County unit of the NCAE. Also, Mrs. Queen received gifts from the Cleveland County Association of Teacher Assistants, and the three honorees received a year’s membership to the YMCA.

Mr. Reed and Mrs. Feaster will continue in their respective teacher and principal of the year regional competitions sponsored by NCDPI.

Nominated teachers, teaching assistants were also honored for their selection as school-level Teacher of the Year and Teaching Assistant of the Year.
