January 20th marked the 175th anniversary of the first public school in North Carolina, which opened in the Williamsburg Community of Rockingham County.

You are encouraged to join us in celebrating this tremendous milestone in the history of our great state by sharing your school photos while attending a public school in Cleveland County.  Send us your school pictures (individuals, groups, facilities, etc.) as well as a few details of who or what is shown in the individual images to gsshull@clevelandcountyschools.org.

We'll share batches of photos on Thursdays to coincide with the "Throwback Thursday" global photo movement.  You are also welcome to share the pictures with us via Twitter by including the "@clevecoschools" mention along with the "#TBT" hashtag.

Please take a moment to enjoy the following NCASA 'I Am' Campaign video.  Be sure to watch closely near the 2:50 mark as Charlotte Smith, Elon Women's Head Basketball Coach and Shelby High School graduate echos the "I am North Carolina Public Schools" statement.
