NC Report Card Information

Dear CCS parents and community members,

Preparing our children for tomorrow’s world is our number one task as educators. Throughout their educational journey, it is important that we provide you with vital information about our schools using the NC School Report Card information system.

As the superintendent of Cleveland Count Schools (CCS), I encourage you to use this tool (ncreportcards.org) as a resource for information about student achievement, class size, school safety, school technology, and teacher quality at the school and district.

Cleveland County Schools has a history of excellence. In recent years, five elementary schools were recognized as Title I Rewards Schools, and an elementary school was recognized by Governor Pat McCrory as the only school in North Carolina to earn the National Title I Distinguished School recognition in the category of high growth. Another school was among two in the state named an Exemplary High Performing School and among five in North Carolina to earn a National Blue Ribbon recognition. We induct over 200 students annually into the National Technical Honor Society for their achievements in Career and Technical Education and have award-winning fine arts programs that showcase the many talents of our students. Recent grads earned over $9.3 million in scholarships and we are continually expanding our 1:1 student laptop initiative.

We are especially proud of that our four-year cohort graduation rate is at an all-time high of nearly 90 percent and has increased exponentially within the past several years. We attribute this to the everyday excellence that is taking place in the classroom and the healthy relationships between the schools and the surrounding communities.

Our schools have experienced many accomplishments, but I know even better days are yet to come.
