CCS Work History
I originally came to Cleveland County Schools to teach math at Kings Mountain Middle. I spent 3 great years there working with 7th and 8th graders on their math skills. I spent the next 5 years at Cleveland Early College High School working with students at all math levels. I am now a Bulldog. I have been at Burns for 2 years now and love the role that I play with both teachers and students. Every day is a new challenge for me here, and it keeps me excited about what each day will bring.

I graduated from Kent State University with degrees in Integrated Mathematics and K-12 School Leadership.

I am married to Maggie Butler, and we have a crazy beagle named Sam.

What do you like best about your school/work location?
Burns has been a very welcoming home for the last two years. It has a great staff, which is very supportive of members who join it.

If you could give students one piece of advice, what would it be and why?
Always research what you are told, and make sure to consider the source that is giving you the information. As a math-minded person, it is good to be reminded that facts and statistics can tell a variety of stories if not understood.

Why is Cleveland County Schools special to you?
I have had the privilege of getting to know many young people and teachers during my time in Cleveland County. I feel that many of both groups make and will continue to make this area a great place to live.
