CCS Work History
I am in my 17th year of teaching and Burns Middle School has been my home for all 17 years. I worked part-time at the Central Office during my senior year of high school as well as my first two years of college.

I bleed blue! I attended Burns Junior High and graduated from Burns High School in 1987. I graduated from Cleveland Community College in 1990 and Gardner-Webb University in 1992. I later attended Appalachian State where I received my Masters in Middle Grades Math.

I have been married to my husband, Robert, for 23 years. Robert works for the City of Gaffney as a captain with the fire department. We have a son, John, who is 17 years old and attends Burns High. John will be attending Lenoir-Rhyne University in the fall.

What do you like best about your school/work location?
Burns Middle School is home. The faculty and staff are very caring and supportive of each other.

If you could give students one piece of advice, what would it be and why?
Work hard and believe in yourself.

Why is Cleveland County Schools special to you?
It is home to me. I was raised in Cleveland County Schools, and I later returned to work in the same place. I would not want to work anywhere else.
