Dear Parents,

I would like to provide you with details about the upcoming Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) dates, registration deadlines, and SAT Boot Camps. Seniors that have never taken the SAT or seniors that need to improve their SAT score should register for the November 5 or December 3 test date. Registration information is available in Mrs. Heffelfinger’s office. Please pay close attention to the registration deadlines for each test.

Shelby High School will be offering two SAT Boot Camps this fall. The dates and times appear on the attached flyer. One purpose of the Boot Camp is to help students understand the format of the SAT and practice taking an SAT. The practice test will help identify weak areas and then students will receive practice and instruction to improve skills. The Boot Camp will also teach test-taking strategies.

There will be a $20 fee due the first session of the camp. If students are in regular attendance and complete the work assigned with good effort, the fee will be refunded at the end of the session.

Students can enroll in the camp by completing the bottom portion of this letter and returning it to Guidance by October 6, 2005 . I strongly encourage students and parents to take advantage of this opportunity.
