Physical Education Fall 2007 NewsletterNorth School Physical Education classes are off to a quick start. Students are learning some new exercises to work on to help improve their core muscles. The students are doing an excellent job trying to master these abdominal and back strengthening activities. Other exercises that will be mastered this year or those for the upper body, lower body, stretching and aerobic dance moves. After school activities will begin around the end of September. Please keep an eye for a note about this in the next couple of weeks. Running Club will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year. The PE club will be held on Wednesdays. Hopefully, volleyball and tennis activities can be included later in the year. All students will be given a physical fitness test the week of September 17. Please encourage your child to work on curl-ups, push-ups and stretching at night. This will help to avoid excessive soreness of the muscles that haven’t been used over the summer. This already sounds like a fun and exciting year for students in Physical Education. Just a reminder, students should wear safe and appropriate clothes to schools on Physical Education and PEPI (Thursday) days. This helps everyone to do their best and to be safe in Physical Education. |
