  • Congratulations:  Michelle Mack has been awarded National Board Certification.  Great job, Michelle!!!  We are proud of you.
  • It’s a Jungle:  Have you seen the new art in the media center.  Doyle’s brushes are hot again.  Notice the reading center the next time you are in there.  I especially like the giraffe!
  • Calendar Committee:  Thanks to Cam Scism and Julie Taylor for representing North on the CCS Calendar Committee this year.
  • Smartboard Training:  We have rescheduled Smartboard training for January 12, which was originally scheduled for December 15.  Teachers, mark your calendars.  A. McKee will conduct the training.
  • Program:  Remember that our third and fourth graders will entertain us on Thursday evening, December 11, at 6:00 and again at 1:50 on Friday afternoon, December 12, with special Christmas music.  Also, our Book Fair will be open on Thursday evening.  This would be a good time to purchase a special book for someone.  Our PTO will set up several Christmas trees, which have been donated by area businesses.  You may place your bid on one of the four, specially-decorated trees.  Money raised will be used to purchase technology for our school.
  • Book Fair:  W. Phillips has announced several special events that are associated with our Book Fair.  If we reach our goal of $4200, Santa will read from the roof again this year.  Students will stamp a graph for each book they buy.  The class with the most books sold will earn a special prize.  Students may make jungle animals to bring to the library.  A secret judge will award a winner.  One animal per day will be hidden around the campus.  The person who finds the animal will bring it to the media center for a Book Fair prize.
  • Directions:  Do you know how hard it is to write directions for making a peanut butter sandwich?  Ask one of B. Sellers’ students.  Great activity!
  • Staff Luncheon:  Remember to come hungry for lunch on Thursday, December 18.  Heavenly Creations will begin serving our Christmas lunch at 11:00 .
  • PE Club Schedule:  Thursday, December 11, is the last day for PE clubs.  They will resume on Tuesday, January 27.
  • Relay for Life Breakfast:  Breakfast will be served for a $3.00 donation on Friday, December 19.  That is also “Jean Day” for a $5.00 donation.  Thanks to our Relay for Life organizers!

  • Staff Get-together:  On Monday, December 15, we will gather in the media center for a few minutes.  Remember to bring an inexpensive gift for the exchange and a non-perishable food item/s for our needy family table.
  • Focus Visit:  Donna Senter will be here on Wednesday, December 17, for a visit.
  • Christmas Parties:  If your class is participating in a holiday celebration in the classroom, please carry out all trash and left-overs.  Clean up your classrooms, so our maintenance guys won’t have extra work to do those days.   Take down all decorations and seasonal work before you leave for the holidays.
  • Days off:  December 22, 23, 29, 30, 31, and January 2 are annual leave days.  December 24, 25, 26, and January 1 are holidays.
  • Quote:  Live simply, Love generously, Care deeply, Speak kindly, and Leave the rest to God…Don’t know who said it, but I like it.
